First thoughts after I finished reading the last words on the last page: "Good. Good... Yes."
I feel content with the book and the ending.
It was sci-fi, but felt so "sci" I forgot it wasn't something happening in reality.
The plot is good and believable, the characters are real and vibrant, the science adds a lot to the reading experience.
Through the first attempt at deep dive- reading this book I had some difficulty, to be honest. Jasmine is truly a very vibrant character who has a very strong voice, and thought process throughout the book. At first it was challenging living in her head. And then the actions she decided to take, it was hard for me to see everything through her eyes and thinking about what will be her consequences. It felt too real, too close. So I stopped.
And then, today I had some free time and I acknowledged that this book is so good apart from this difficulty, and continued reading, and now I could appreciate much more every aspect that I learned and experienced.
I came to this book for a sci-fi adventure, and when I learned Weir had written a very whole world for very real characters, and then put them in a situation in which their choices made them do things I wasn't expecting, I was in some kind of shock for a while, I connected to Jazz in a way which wasn't feeling safe for this turn of events. When I picked the book again I knew what I'm in for. A crime thriller in space, when you are the criminal.
The writing is great and I believe the characters. It's a good book.
I recommend it to people with open mind who look for a unique experience in an interesting society, looking through the eyes of a very strong, smart and vibrant woman.

"Ok, there are some stuff we need to recap:
Jazz is fucking smart and my brain gets a bit fuzzy from the information dumps she gives sometimes, interesting but not entirely understandable for me.
Svoboda is funny, I like him.
Calvin - great part, where does it go?
What does Trond hide?
I don't know how it will end and I am a bit worried and have to power through it in order to finish."
